“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1
“And God said,”Let there be light,” and there was light.” Genesis1:3

The power of the Word! God spoke and all creation came into being. Jesus is the Word. We get to hold God’s written, inspired word. Words are so strong, so important, so powerful! So many of you have written such beautiful, true words of encouragement to me. I thank you. Your words have been hope to me, reminders for me of the endless truths of Jesus! Your words have brought tears and laughter, have lifted me up to the heights; what gifts I have been given by all the written words! Thank you, thank you for the many words!

I also got word today from my surgeon. He is truly a man of God and I am so thankful for his great skill as a surgeon. He first told me about the breast tissue that was removed. We knew about the one confirmed tumor but there was also several other suspicious sites. The biopsy showed that 1/3 of the breast had ductal carcinoma in situ. Not as serious but still breast cancer. He also removed 19 lymph nodes and of those, 9 were malignant. He said this is not great but at least it is not a higher number. As I understand, this just confirms that chemo is in my future. I will continue to heal from the surgery and eagerly wait for the drains to come out. Derek and I will meet with the oncologist Nov. 3 and she will discuss what, if any, further test will be do to determine if the cancer has spread to any other parts of my body. It was so good to have the results and now we will continue to live fully and pray, giving thanks for each new day.

We are praying for continued growth and health for little Markey, for increased strength and energy for me, and for healing in my body. It is crazy to think about a beautiful, new life growing along side this yucky cancer. I cannot wait to see the little one in April!
